GCSE AND A LEVEL REVISION

During the Easter and Whitsun holidays I hold small group intensive revision sessions for the Foundation GCSE, Higher GCSE and A Level specifications. These take place in my fully equipped office in Knowle.

For Foundation students we will be looking to get that all important Level 4/5 so it doesn't matter whether you are currently a Level 2 or a Level 3 you can get that Level 4/5 by attending my courses which each focus on a major aspect of the syllabus.  Ideally you should attend all sessions but if you prefer to attend just one or two then that's fine.

For Higher programme students the courses will focus on getting a Level 7, 8 or 9, and follow a similar format to the Foundation course by looking at the four key topics on the syllabus.

At A Level, we concentrate on the topics that most students find difficult but there is coverage of the Core material as well as the Statistics and Mechanics content.

Details of the times and costs of these courses are posted well in advance on my Latest News page. Snacks and drinks are provided and numbers are strictly limited so you can be assured of the very best tuition.

Expectations of Students on the Course

Students should bring with them all the equipment they would normally take into a maths exam. This includes pen, pencil, eraser, ruler, calculator and a protractor. All course notes and copies of exam papers will be provided for them. I will take parent contact details before the course in case I need to contactyou, for example, if your son/daughter becomes ill.

How will the students be taught?

We will look at key topics that students generally find difficult and which have been highlighted in previous Examiners Reports. Any individual difficulties should be able to be addressed due to the small numbers of students attending.  Students will leave the course with a selection of examination style questions, along with full solutions for them to practise with, to help develop their understanding further.

And after the course?

Students will leave the course feeling more confident with their GCSE/ A Level  maths and having made some new friends.  Discussing maths with friends is something I actively promote and after your course(s) I would encourage you to revise together, maybe in pairs or groups of three if you can.

After completing a course all students will be welcome to email Solihull Maths Revision to ask questions on any aspect of the examination they are preparing for. I will always try my best to answer their questions promptly.

Because of the small numbers of students on these courses you are advised to contact me early to book your place. I can take your deposit (20% of the course fee) by cash, cheque, bank transfer or credit card. The balance of the course fee is payable two weeks prior to the course date.
